The Getaways : Wayanad

Kerala, God’s own country , is a state which I have visited the most. Filled with lush greenery it’s one of the most beautiful places in the country . We recently visited this place over the weekend and I loved the entire journey! Let me take you through this journey :

Day 1 :

We started from Bangalore at about 5:30 am and we first visited Nanjangudu Temple which is on the way to Wayanad

On reaching Wayanad at Noon we visited the Phantom rock which is a short walk uphill. The view of the mountains and Wayanad from above was beauteous .

Next , we visited the Wayanad Historical museum. It is one of the largest and the important museums of Kerala.

Eddakal caves are believed to have been formed by the separation of a large rock and tribals in the olden days stayed here. The trek up is a little tough but it’s worth it. The cravings inside is of historical importance.

We were done for the day and we stayed in Western Ghats Hotel. the view from the rooms are amazing!

Day 2 : We started the day with a walk in Pookode lake. It’s refreshing and is a good way to start the day!

Next stop was Lakkidi view point from which Wayanad and Kozhikode look beautiful than ever. It’s an eye filler.

We stopped at a tea garden to enjoy the place

Last place we visited was Banasura Sagar Dam which is the 2nd largest Earth Dam in Asia.

The flower exhibition there was one of the best floral encounter . ( also cause I’m a flower lover 😉 )

Wayanad is one of the best places to visit in South India! My favourites was the Eddakal caves!

The drive back through Nagarhole forest was the best way to end the trip!

This was the first getaway blog I hope you like this blog! Make sure you like it and comment below if you have visited the place!
